GO NUTS FOR MEGA BUCKS!!!!

Right now, at this very moment, 22 people are going hard out for the hungry. Specifically East Timor. I am in the blue team with Ido from Shortland Street. We've just finished watching depressing videos on the 40 hour famine website. This year, New Zealand are aiming to $ 3.15 million for the tribes of East Timor. WE'RE GOING HARD OUT FOR THE HUNGRY!!!

Cellphones

Cellphones have been around for a long time. They were invented in 1973 by Doctor Martin Cooper. They’ve changed through the years. Back then people used to be called them bricks because they used to be big. They can also be carried around.

The very first brand to come out was Motorola then heaps more came such as Nokia, Samsung, Sony Ericsson, and many more. Back then you could only call but now you can text too. Vodafone, Telecom and 2 degree are different types of companys.

Phones are very use full because you can text, listen to music, bluetooth and also play games. You can also go on the internet for going on facebook, twitter and other things you want. They also have memory cards so you can have more memory on your phone.

You have to top your phones up so you can text and call, every time you top up it cost’s $20. You can get text 2000, text 5000, free calling in the weekends and many more. Text 2000 and text 5000 cost $10 and you get the free calling for free and so you have $10 left. You can also buy free internet for only $6. They all only last a month every time you top up, then it gets expired.

I think phones are a good invention, because they can keep you busy at times. But it can keep you from going outdoors and doing other things.

Team 5 Immersions

This term our school’s topic is Bigger, Better, Faster, Stronger. All of the team 5 teachers had an activity for us based on our topic. They were Imagination, Creativity, Discovery, Innovation and Practicality.

Our first immersion class was with our teacher. The topic was Imagination. We played a game called Bus stop where we had to answer questions using our imagination. Then we had to create a Zinger Pinger. It was about us making up an imaginary pet and an island that they lived on. My pets name was Navolo and she lived on an island called _SNookSTA_.

On the 1st week of school we went to Ms Tito for immersion. With Ms Tito we learnt about creativity. We had to create our name using online graphics or we could draw it on paper. I did my name in graffiti by using online graphics. It is a competition and whoever wins get to throw water balloons at your class including your teacher. So far Moses and Raven are coming first.

Our 3rd rotation was with Mr Barks. We learnt about Practicality. It was doing stuff that was practical. It was also about being fair and seeing if its possible. He told us some stories about practicality, and how things work.

On Tuesday we had immersion with Mr Harris. We learnt about innovation. We searched old images and new ones so we knew how things changed through time. We also did activities about thinking out the box. But at the end of the day we had fun.

Our last immersion was with Mrs Nua we learnt about Discovery. We had to make something to support an egg so it won’t crack when you drop it. First she gave us a paper so we could draw our design. Then she gave us 8 sticks, 10 small straws and 2 long pieces of tape. We had to try not make egg break with all of those things.

Immersion was fun. My favourite was Discovery with Mrs Nua. Our groups egg cracked! Tanielu’s group won the challenge. ge.

My holiday highlights

As I woke up my nana made breakfast for our family. When we finished our breakfast we had to get ready because my nana and Bobbi-Grace were going to China. When we arrived at the airport we said our goodbyes and went to eat. My cousin was crying when my nana left. When my cousin finished crying we went to eat and then left.

On the last Friday of the holidays I went to Youth Pride. I went with my cousin’s and my brother. We had shared lunch for the last day of Youth Pride. At Youth Pride we did a lot of activities and games. After we finished playing the games we had a shared lunch, there was a lot of food. When we finished our shared lunch we had one more game and then we went home.

One of the days me and my cousin’s went to the movies to watch Fast & Furious 5. When we arrived at the movies we went to eat at the food court, as we finished eating we went to go and get our tickets. When our movie was on we sat there until the movie finished. When the movie finished we went back home and went to sleep.
