Final Design

I chose this design because: There is rubbish in the school and you have to bin it so there is no more rubbish.

Evaluation:
* Does your sign meet all the specifications and requirements of the brief? If so, how?

* What is the purpose of your sign? Do you think your sign will help eliminate a problem in the school or street? If so, how? Bin it, maybe, because they might respect the signs

* What did you do well? Drawing my pictures

* What difficulties did you come across while making your sign? Drawing the signs

* What can you do next time to improve your project? Finish it faster

Disaster around the world

What if a disaster happens? What can I do to prepare?

There are a lot of deadly natural disaster in the world. Such as Tsunami’s , Earthquake’s, Volcanic Eruption’s and many more, but they can kill a lot of people. All the natural disasters have something to do with the earth or the weather.

Earthquakes are also known as quake, tremor, temblor. Earhquakes are formed as the Tectonic plates move under the earths crust, they move around and hit each other causing an earthquake. Sometimes earthquakes have after shock and usually faults appear on the ground. Most people usually use a Richter Scale by measuring how big the earthquake was.

Tsunamis are made by a undersea earthquakes. A very helpful tip for knowing a tsunami is coming is, the tide is out and some frothy stuff is left. So warn people if you see something like that. Make sure that you are prepared when there is a Tsunami.

Volcanic Eruptions are one of the most dangerous disasters. Volcanoes erupt when the Earths plates pull apart causing magma to rise to the surface. They also occur over hotspots and where 1 plate dives beneath another forcing magma to rise to the surface.

Term 2 highlights

This term we have had a lot of fun highlights. Mostly everyone enjoyed this term and had fun because there were a lot of fun things we done. These were my best highlights this term.

One of my highlights this term was the Year 7&8 Girls Soccer Tournament we had. It was held at Cross Field in Glendowie, driving towards our destination, I took a look out the window and saw there were already other teams here. We played against Ellerslie, Church Hill Park, and Panmure District. We lost 2 games and won 1 game. But overall we came 2nd in our pool.

Another highlight was the 20 Hour Famine. We had to raise money for the people in East Timor. Everyone in the 20 hour famine, had a sleep over at school so we could experience what people in East Timor are going through. We stopped eating at 12:00 p.m. When it was time for the sleep over everyone was talking to their friends. At the sleep over we watched a movie, played games and other things. Then we started eating at 8:00 in the morning when we went home.

The last highlight of this term was the Science Road Show. Only the 7&8 were the only people that went to the trip. We went on June 15th, it was held at Tamaki College. It was fun because we got to look at the exhibits and some of them we were allowed to play with. But the best thing was winning the prize.
