DDay 1 :
As I came to school I knew that camp was going to be great . I ran to the hall and put my gear where my group was and sat down where my friends were . There were 6 groups and they were called Carerz, Responsiblez, Motivatorz, Participatorz, Thinkerz and Respectablez The group that I was in was the Respectablez . Our leaders were Shontelle and Feki, and our teacher was Miss Va’afusuanga .
There were heaps of games and activities, our first one was kayaking . We had to get into our togs and walk down to the reserve . When we arrived at the reserve Mr Burt told us what the instructions were. When he finished he let us go kayaking.
When we finished kayaking we did Indigenous games with Mr Harris . We split up into 2 groups . There were heaps of games that we played with Mr Harris, which I couldn’t say the names of them. But they were all fun. The one I liked the most is how you had to try get the ball past the line without the other team catching it . Then we had morning tea .
After we had morning tea we did team building with Mr Barks . Our first team building activity was that you had to get the tire over the wood and keep it straight facing upwards , but finally we succeeded. Then we had to try get a cup of water and put it on the top of the wood with out it falling, and everyone had to come down then take a photo . But the cup fell and so we had to try get it up again , but it kept on falling so we went to a different challenge . Then next challenge we done we had to get the water into the bucket through chanels with out water coming out. When we finished that we done our last challenge with Mr Barks. We had to get a piece of cello-tape as high as we can and try get as many names on it in 10 minutes , we ended up with 11 names on it . Then we had lunch.
After we had lunch we went to Mrs Lagitupu and did our MTV movie . Then we went to Mrs Nua to go put up our tents . In my tent was Hillary and Ngametua . After we finished pitching up our tent we had to go and get our bags and put it in the tent and set up our beds . Then we got our stuff ready for and if we wanted to have a swim . When we finished we went back to school and had free time until dinner .
When dinner came up we had to get our plates and cutlery . We had a hangi for dinner . Tokorimas’ dad made the hangi for us . It had chicken, potatoes, kumara, pumpkin, stuffing and pork in it . It was very delicious . After having dinner we had desert . When we finished our desert we went to our tent to take our stuff back . As we were at our tent we had to change into our pyjamas and take our blanket and pillow if we wanted to , because we were going to watch a movie.
We had a choice of 3 movies . They were Willow, Despicable Me, and Toy story 3 , We watched the movies in the classes at the street .The movie that I watched was Despicable Me . During the movie Mrs Tele’a came and said if any one wanted to watch the West Tigers game . When I heard Mrs Tele’a say if any one wanted to watch the West Tigers I got up and went with her to room 21 . The teams that were challenging were the West Tigers and the Bulldogs . We didn’t get to watch the whole thing because Despicable Me was finished and so everybody had to go and brush their teeth, then go to sleep .
